Hastelloy C-276 of nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys containing tungsten

the alloy has excellent corrosion resistance to most corrosion media in oxidation and reduction states. Excellent point corrosion resistance, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking performance. alloys are suitable for various chemical process industries containing oxidizing and reducing media. The high content of molybdenum and chromium enables the alloy to resist the erosion of chloride ions, and the tungsten element further improves its corrosion resistance. Hastelloy C-276 is one of the few materials that can resist the corrosion of moisture-wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solution. The alloy has significant corrosion resistance to high concentration of chlorinated salt solution (such as ferric chloride and copper chloride).

Hastelloy C-276 corrosion properties

Corrosion of oxidizing acids such as nitric acid, nitric acid and sulfuric acid, mixed acid, gallic acid and sulfuric acid, as well as corrosion of oxidizing salts or media containing other oxidants such as hypochlorite at higher temperatures than normal temperature

Good corrosion resistance to seawater, acetic acid, wet chlorine, can also be used in chlorine or chlorinated media. but the corrosion resistance of nickel molybdenum alloy in hydrochloric acid is not as good as that of nickel molybdenum alloy.

Good corrosion resistance in cases of oxidation, reduction and halogen ions

Hastelloy C-4 of hydrofluoric acid has lower corrosion rate than Hastelloy C-276.
